President Tinubu Nominates Taiwo Oyedele as Minister of State for Finance
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Mr. Taiwo Oyedele as Minister of State for Finance and has forwarded his name to the Senate for confirmation.
The President made the announcement in a statement on Tuesday, describing Oyedele as a seasoned economist and public policy expert whose appointment comes at a critical period for Nigeria’s fiscal reforms.
Oyedele previously served as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, where he led efforts to overhaul the nation’s tax system.
According to the President, “Taiwo has served our nation diligently as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, leading the overhaul of our tax system with clarity, courage, and competence.”
Tinubu added that Oyedele’s expertise as an economist, accountant, and public policy specialist would help strengthen Nigeria’s fiscal architecture.
Uzoka-Anite Retains Position
The President also confirmed that Doris Uzoka-Anite will continue to serve as Minister of State at the Ministry of Budget and National Planning.
He noted that her experience across various portfolios remains vital to the administration’s reform agenda.
“We are building a team defined by expertise, discipline, and results. The work continues. Nigeria First,” the President stated.
The nomination of Oyedele is subject to screening and confirmation by the Senate.
