Cubana Chief Priest Claims He Withdrew From APC Ticket Race Before Primaries
Cubana Chief Priest has stated that he stepped down from the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives ticket race for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East federal constituency before the party’s primary election was held.
The socialite made the clarification in a detailed post shared on his Instagram Stories following Saturday’s primary election, where he was absent from the contest.
APC Primary Outcome
The APC primary election produced incumbent lawmaker Canice Moore Nwachukwu as the party’s candidate for the constituency. Nwachukwu, who is currently serving his second term, secured the ticket for the 2027 general elections.
Why He Withdrew From the Race
Cubana Chief Priest explained that his withdrawal was based on consultations with party leaders in Imo State, including discussions around zoning arrangements within the federal constituency.
He claimed that the party had adopted a zoning structure which, at the time, did not favour his local government area.
According to him, the decision was made in respect of party leadership and internal agreements reached ahead of the primaries.

The socialite insisted that he was not present at any polling unit during the exercise, stating that he had already returned to Lagos before voting began.
“In respect for the party and its leadership, I chose not to proceed to the field… I never did. Nobody will say they saw me anywhere around the primary venue,” he said.
He added that his ambition was driven by his belief that the incumbent representative had not fully met the expectations of constituents, but he ultimately respected the party’s final zoning decision.
