“Let There Be Peace in the Land” — VP Shettima’s Sends Message to Nigerians
Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged Nigerians to embrace peace, unity, and patience as the nation celebrates Sallah, calling for mutual coexistence despite economic and global challenges.
“Our message to Nigerians is to continue praying for peace and for mutual coexistence amongst all Nigerians,” he said.
He stressed unity and restraint in political engagement.
“There is a need for maturity, for forbearance, and for generosity of spirit… what binds us together surpasses whatever that divides us,” he added.
Shettima also noted global economic strain and appealed for patience, assuring that government efforts are ongoing.
“The world is still in turmoil. The cost of living indices globally has risen,” he said, adding, “Governments at all levels are poised to ameliorate the sufferings of the Nigerian people.”
He concluded with a prayer for peace across Nigeria and beyond: “Let there be peace in the land.”
