Super Eagles Star Paul Onuachu Wins Turkish Süper Lig Golden Boot
Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has emerged as the joint winner of the 2025/2026 Turkish Süper Lig Golden Boot after an impressive goalscoring campaign with Trabzonspor.
The Nigerian forward finished the season with 22 league goals, sharing the top scorer award with Eldor Shomurodov of İstanbul Başakşehir.
Onuachu’s outstanding form throughout the season played a key role in Trabzonspor’s campaign, with the towering striker consistently delivering crucial goals in important matches. The 31-year-old featured in 30 league matches and also registered two assists during the season.
The race for the Golden Boot remained intense until the final round of fixtures, with Shomurodov scoring in İstanbul Başakşehir’s last game to draw level with the Nigerian striker on 22 goals.
Onuachu finished ahead of several top stars in the Turkish top flight, including Victor Osimhen, who scored 15 league goals for Galatasaray, while Anderson Talisca of Fenerbahçe ended the season with 19 goals.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) congratulated Onuachu on the achievement, praising his consistency and impact in front of goal throughout the campaign.
The Golden Boot triumph further strengthens Onuachu’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s most prolific strikers abroad and marks another major milestone in his European football career.
