Tinubu Visits Jos Over Plateau Killings, Postpones Ogun Trip
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed his scheduled trip to Iperu in Ogun State, opting instead to visit Jos in Plateau State to commiserate with victims of recent attacks.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday by Bayo Onanuga, the President will visit Plateau State following deadly gun attacks that claimed the lives of innocent citizens.
The visit marks the beginning of a four-state tour by the President.
After the Jos visit, Tinubu will proceed to Lagos to observe the Good Friday.
On Saturday, April 4, the President is expected to travel to Ogun State to flag off operations at the Gateway International Cargo Airport. He will also inaugurate two commercial aircraft aimed at boosting import and export activities in the state.
During the Ogun visit, Tinubu will commission the new Federal Operations Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service and its operational vehicles.
He will subsequently return to Lagos to continue the Easter celebrations, where he is also scheduled to commission several infrastructure projects executed by the administration of Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The projects include the Ojota/Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information System Building, a Multi-Agency Complex named after the President, and a school complex.
Before returning to Abuja, Tinubu will visit Bayelsa State on April 10 to inaugurate projects completed by Governor Duoye Diri.
The presidency said the tour reflects Tinubu’s commitment to national development and support for states affected by security challenges.
