Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has publicly disagreed with social media personality VeryDarkMan over the reported imprisonment of businessman known as B-Lord.

In a statement shared via his official platform, Sowore condemned the court-ordered detention, stressing that no individual’s incarceration should be celebrated under the guise of legality.

“I have read about the court-ordered detention of an individual known as B-Lord, and I must say this clearly that no one should celebrate the incarceration of any person under the color of law,” he said.

The activist revealed that he had contacted his legal representative, Marshal D F Abubakar, instructing him to withdraw from the case.

Sowore argued that jailing B-Lord does not represent a triumph of justice or legal advocacy, warning instead that such actions could strengthen what he described as an oppressive legal system.

“We must all agree that sending B-Lord to prison is not a victory for legal brilliance or advocacy. Rather, it risks emboldening a system of oppression that weaponizes the law against citizens,” he added.

He further emphasized that justice should not be equated with punishment alone, pledging to push for the discontinuation of the case and the immediate release of the detained individual.

The development has sparked divide in public opinion, as VeryDarkMan had earlier supported the legal action, sparking debate across social media on the role of the justice system and civil liberties in Nigeria.
