Replace VP’s Aircraft to Avert Tragedy, Borno Speaker Tells FG
Vice President Kashim Shettima’s life is at risk due to the faulty presidential aircraft he uses, according to Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan.
This concern arises after Shettima’s recent cancellation of his trip to the Commonwealth Summit in Samoa following an incident at JFK Airport in New York, where a foreign object hit his plane during a stopover.
Lawan is urging the Federal Government to acquire a new aircraft for Shettima to prevent any potential tragedy. This isn’t the first time concerns have been raised about the aircraft’s safety, as the House of Representatives Committee on National Security and Intelligence had previously mandated the acquisition of new aircraft for both President Bola Tinubu and Shettima.
However, only Tinubu’s aircraft was replaced due to intense public scrutiny.
