Nigerian Army DSSC 2026 Application Begins January 7

The Nigerian Army (NA) has announced the commencement of applications for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026, inviting eligible Nigerians to apply.

According to the Army, the online application process opens on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, and will close on February 4, 2026.

In a statement, the Nigerian Army said applications are free of charge and open to both civilians and serving military personnel.

“Applications are invited from eligible Nigerians for commission into the Nigerian Army as Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) officers,” the statement read.

The Army noted that the DSSC is available in the following corps:

• Nigerian Army Engineers
• Nigerian Army Signals
• Nigerian Army Medical Corps
• Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers
• Nigerian Army Education Corps

The application must be completed online only via the official recruitment portal.

“Applications are free and are to be made online from 7 January to 4 February 2026,” the Army stated.

How to Apply for Nigerian Army DSSC 2026

Interested candidates should follow the steps below:

1. Visit the Nigerian Army recruitment portal at recruitment.army.mil.ng and select the DSSC option.
2. Carefully read the qualification criteria for the ongoing DSSC course.
3. Click on “Apply Now” and select the DSSC option based on your qualification and preferred corps.
4. Indicate whether you are serving or have previously served in the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
5. If you do not have an account, click “Sign Up” and complete the email verification process before logging in.
6. Fill out the application form and upload the required documents.

• Evidence of membership of any professional body (where applicable)
• Certificate of state of origin
• Birth certificate or age declaration
• National Identification Number (NIN) or Bank Verification Number (BVN)
