Muhammad Mikail Declares for Lokoja 1 Assembly, Submits Intent to APC Leadership
A leading aspirant for the Kogi State House of Assembly, Lokoja 1 Constituency, Muhammad Mikail (Ya’aba), has formally submitted his letter of intent to contest under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The submission took place on Friday at the APC Secretariat in Lokoja Local Government Area, where Mikail was accompanied by a large delegation of supporters and well-wishers.
He was warmly received by party executives led by the APC Chairman, Idris Aloma, who commended the aspirant for his commitment to the party.
Speaking during the visit, Aloma urged Mikail to remain steadfast as a loyal party member, engage critical stakeholders, and ensure inclusiveness in his political journey.
In his remarks, Mikail expressed gratitude to the party leadership, noting that his ambition is driven by a genuine desire to serve the people rather than personal gains.
“My aspiration is rooted in service, with the aim of strengthening the party’s presence and improving its electoral fortunes in Lokoja 1,” he said.
The aspirant also praised the leadership style of Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, describing it as people-oriented and impactful.
According to him, effective legislative representation must be people-centered, transparent, and focused on measurable development outcomes.
“If given the mandate, I will be a strong voice for my constituency, ensuring their needs are well represented in legislative debates and development planning,” Mikail added.
Highlighting his qualifications, Mikail noted that he holds a Master’s degree in Communications and Media Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication (Second Class Upper). He is also an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and has participated in several leadership and professional development programs both locally and internationally.
He concluded by seeking the support of party executives and faithful, assuring them of accessibility, integrity, and a commitment to impactful leadership.
