Easter: FG Declares April 18 and 21 as Public Holidays


The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, as public holidays to commemorate Good Friday and Easter Monday.
This announcement was made in a statement issued by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Tuesday in Abuja.
On behalf of the government, the Minister congratulated Christians nationwide on the joyous occasion and highlighted the significance of Easter. He urged Nigerians to reflect on the virtues of love and sacrifice demonstrated by Jesus Christ for humanity’s redemption.
Tunji-Ojo encouraged citizens to take the opportunity of the Easter break to pray for peace, unity, and stability in the country.
He reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at driving national progress and development.
The Minister also called on Nigerians to show love and kindness to one another through generous acts, and he wished Christians and all Nigerians a joyful and peaceful Easter celebration.
