Dembélé wins 2025 Ballon d’Or after firing PSG to Champions League title
Ousmane Dembélé won the 2025 men’s Ballon d’Or on Monday after a prolific season in which the France forward scored 33 goals and provided 15 assists to help Paris Saint-Germain claim the Champions League.
The 28-year-old netted 12 times in Europe’s elite competition, including a crucial strike in the 2-1 victory over Real Madrid in the final, securing PSG’s first continental crown since 1995.
Barcelona’s teenage forward Lamine Yamal finished second in the men’s voting but collected the Kopa Trophy for the best under-21 player. Spain midfielder Aitana Bonmatí won the women’s Ballon d’Or for the third consecutive year, extending her dominance of the award.
PSG were also named Best Team of the Year, capping a historic campaign for the French champions.
The ceremony in Paris included a tribute to Liverpool and Portugal forward Diogo Jota, who died earlier this year.
