Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Farida Sultana Auduson Ibrahim, popularly known as Sultana, has revealed the personal journey that led her to choose Islam over Christianity.
During a candid late-night conversation with fellow housemate Zita on Wednesday, the 25-year-old plus-size model opened up about her religious background and the reason behind her decision to practice Islam.
Sultana explained that she was raised in an interfaith household—her father, a Muslim from Adamawa State, and her mother, a Christian from Yala in Cross River State. As a result, she was exposed to both religions from an early age.
“No, I grew up going to both church and mosque. My mom is a Christian. At some point, I got baptized in the Catholic Church—my baptismal name is Josephine,” she shared.
However, Sultana said that as she matured, she made a personal choice to follow the path that resonated most with her beliefs and lifestyle.
“I just decided to choose the religion that works best for me, which is Islam,” she said.
Her story has sparked widespread discussion both inside and outside the BBNaija house, with viewers commending her honesty and willingness to share such a personal aspect of her identity on national television.
