Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has paid a solidarity visit to former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, following the attack on his convoy in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.

During the visit, Atiku condemned the incident and expressed concern over the growing wave of political violence targeting key figures of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) across the country.

“We must not relent in defending Nigerians against anti-democratic forces,” Atiku said, urging Malami to remain steadfast in his advocacy for democracy.

In a statement released by the Zonal Coordinator of the Malami Support Organization, Muhammad Al-Amin, Atiku described the attacks as an attempt to intimidate democratic actors and undermine the coalition’s mission to safeguard Nigeria’s democracy.

Responding, Malami expressed appreciation for the visit and support, noting that he continues to grapple with the aftermath of the convoy attack.

“The incident in Kebbi State is a stark warning against the politicization of violence and deliberate attempts to weaken democratic institutions for partisan gain,” Malami said.

The attack has heightened concerns about political insecurity as the ADC coalition positions itself ahead of the 2027 general elections.
