Suspected thugs on Monday attacked the convoy of former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, in Kebbi State.

Malami, who is now a leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state, said the attack left about 10 vehicles vandalised, while several of his supporters sustained varying degrees of injuries.

Speaking after the incident, Malami explained that his visit to Birnin Kebbi was strictly to offer condolences to families of prominent individuals who had passed away during his absence, and not for political activities.

“It’s a painful act clearly linked to politics. Some thugs came out from the APC state headquarters armed with dangerous weapons and stones, attacking and destroying our convoy,” he alleged.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi has denied any involvement in the incident. Party officials described the claim as baseless, insisting that the APC remains committed to peaceful political engagement in the state.
