Truecaller Surpasses 500 Million Users, Targets 1 Billion Milestone
Global, March 31, 2026 — Truecaller has announced that it has crossed 500 million users worldwide, marking a major milestone in its mission to build safer and more trusted communication across the globe.
The company revealed that it added over 50 million new users in 2025, with more than 150 million users now outside India, reflecting growing global demand for tools that protect against spam, scams, and unwanted calls.
Truecaller also disclosed that it has exceeded 4 million paying subscribers, strengthening its subscription-based revenue stream.
Speaking on the milestone, CEO Rishit Jhunjhunwala said the achievement highlights a broader global trend.
“Reaching 500 million users shows the scale of the need for safer communication and the trust people place in Truecaller. Our goal remains to enhance our technology and build a safer communication ecosystem,” he said.
The Stockholm-headquartered company emphasized that the growth underscores how trust has become a critical layer in digital communication, as more users seek protection from fraud and identity-related risks.
Originally known for its caller identification service, Truecaller has evolved into a comprehensive digital communication platform, offering features such as spam detection, fraud prevention, and secure messaging. The company noted that it identified 68 billion spam and fraud calls in 2025 alone, further cementing its role in safeguarding users.
Despite its massive global reach, Truecaller operates with a relatively lean workforce of about 470 employees, managing services used by hundreds of millions daily.
Looking ahead, the company has set its sights on its next ambitious target reaching 1 billion users worldwide.
Truecaller is publicly listed on Nasdaq Stockholm and continues to report user growth metrics through its quarterly financial updates.
