Paris Saint-Germain superstar, Lionel Messi, has been in “secret talks” with Inter Miami over a move, The Athletic reports.
The MLS side is confident of signing the 35-year-old and hopes he will agree to a deal with David Beckham’s MLS franchise in the “coming months”.
Messi is under contract at PSG until June 2023, which has naturally led to speculation over his future.
The Argentine forward has been linked with a fairytale return to Barcelona, who he left to join PSG last August.
But it is understood that secret talks have been ongoing for several months between his representatives and those of Inter Miami, who appear to be leading the chase for his highly-coveted signature.
The negotiations are so advanced that the MLS club expect the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner to sign for them in the near future.
