The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has announced that corps members will soon receive a higher monthly allowance of N77,000.

Ahmed revealed this in Abuja during the inauguration of a staff bus donated by Capital Express Insurance Company, stating that arrangements for the allowance adjustment have been concluded.

He emphasized his dedication to improving the welfare and security of corps members, assuring them that by 2025, all their entitlements will be fully provided.

Despite the signing of the new national minimum wage bill by President Bola Tinubu in July 2024, corps members have continued to receive N33,000 monthly.

The newly commissioned staff bus aims to alleviate the transportation challenges faced by NYSC staff. Ahmed acknowledged the commuting difficulties experienced by both staff and corps members.
