Fire razes Nigeria Immigration Service headquarters

The Nigeria Immigration Service headquarters in Abuja has been razed by fire in the early hours of Sunday. The Service which disclosed this in a statement on its official Twitter handle said the fire affected some of the offices in the headquarters. The fire, whose cause is still being investigated, has been put out by firefighters. NIS said, “A fire incident occurred in our Service Headquarters this Morning. Buhari Signs 2021 Budget Into Law

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday signed the 2021 budget into law at the Council Chambers of the State House in Abuja. This comes ten days after both chambers of the National Assembly passed the N13.5trn budget and three days after it was transmitted to the President for assent. President Buhari presented the proposed 2021 budget to the National Assembly on October 8. The National Assembly, while approving the proposal on December 21, raised the estimate of N13.082 trillion to N13.588 trillion. The Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) has called off its 10-month-old strike.
