APC Convention: Ben Nwoye Emerges Deputy National Chairman (South)
Ben Nwoye has emerged as the Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the party’s ongoing elective national convention in Abuja.
Nwoye, a former Chairman and Caretaker Committee Chairman of the APC in Enugu State, was officially announced moments after strong indications that a consensus arrangement had been reached in his favour.
He succeeds Emma Eneukwu, who has served in the party’s national leadership for over 13 years, marking the end of a long tenure within the APC hierarchy.
The convention, holding at Eagle Square, has produced several members of the National Working Committee (NWC) through consensus, in line with the party’s internal arrangements.
Nwoye, alongside other newly elected NWC members, is expected to be sworn in shortly as part of the formal conclusion of the convention proceedings.
Party stakeholders say his emergence reflects efforts to maintain unity and strengthen party structures in the southern region ahead of future political contests.
Observers also note the political backing and goodwill from key stakeholders, including Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, which played a role in consolidating support for Nwoye’s emergence.
