Tems’ Born in the Wild Surpasses 700 Million Streams on Spotify
Nigerian singer Tems has reached another major career milestone as her sophomore album, Born in the Wild, has surpassed 700 million streams on Spotify, further cementing her status as one of Africa’s most influential global music stars.
The project becomes Tems’ second release to cross the 700-million-stream mark on the platform, following the continued success of her 2020 EP, For Broken Ears.
Released in June 2024, Born in the Wild also made history as the highest-charting debut album by a Nigerian female artist on the Billboard 200, a feat that underscored the singer’s growing international reach and crossover appeal.
The album received widespread acclaim for its introspective songwriting, rich production, and genre-blending sound, earning strong streaming numbers across multiple markets while expanding Tems’ presence in North America, Europe, and beyond.
