Tiwa Savage Launches Music Foundation With Berklee College of Music in Lagos
Nigerian Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has officially launched the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, a new initiative designed to mentor and empower emerging African artistes through high-level music training and industry exposure.
The singer announced that the foundation’s flagship programme will be delivered in partnership with her alma mater, Berklee College of Music. The free four-day intensive programme is scheduled to take place in Lagos from April 23 to April 26, 2026.
According to details released by the organisers, the programme will provide hands-on training in songwriting, music production, performance, and the business side of music. Participants will be trained by expert instructors, offering them practical knowledge and professional insight into the global music industry.
The initiative is open to aspiring musicians aged 18 and above who have at least one year of music experience. Interested applicants are required to submit a performance video as part of the selection process, with the application deadline set for March 20, 2026.
Organisers disclosed that all selected participants will take part in a final showcase at the end of the programme, where they will perform live. The showcase will be personally advised by Tiwa Savage, providing participants with direct mentorship and performance feedback from the internationally acclaimed artist.
The foundation marks a significant milestone in Savage’s career as she shifts focus toward nurturing the next generation of African music talent, leveraging global expertise to build local capacity within Nigeria’s thriving creative industry.
