Pastor Chris Okafor Breaks Down as He Makes Public Restitution, Apologises to Doris Ogala
Senior Pastor of Grace Nation Church, Pastor Chris Okafor, has publicly apologised and pledged restitution to individuals he said he had wronged, following an emotional church service that has stirred widespread reactions online.
During the service, Pastor Okafor revealed that the past one to two weeks had been extremely difficult for him, explaining that while preparing for the service, God redirected him to speak openly about his past and take responsibility for his actions.
The clergyman said he decided to narrate his story from the beginning, disclosing that he got married for the first time at the age of 23 due to pressure from his parents. He explained that he had six siblings but lost three, a tragedy that made him automatically become the first son of the family.
Pastor Okafor further revealed that during his first marriage, he went through personal struggles which he described as “something” that entered his life — a battle he said he later overcame with the help of mentors, though he kept it hidden for years.
In an emotional moment, the pastor recounted how his younger brother served an “oga” for seven years without being settled. He also shared a painful experience from his marriage, revealing that he once returned home unexpectedly and found his wife with another man an affair he claimed had been ongoing for several years.

Breaking down in tears, Pastor Okafor said he was not sharing the story to judge his ex-wife but to pray for her, adding that the trauma from the experience contributed to many of the mistakes people are now pointing out in his life.
He pleaded with Nigerians not to judge him but to pray for him, stating that he was not proud of his past actions and reminding the congregation that he was “a man before becoming a man of God.”
In a dramatic moment, Pastor Chris Okafor went on his knees before his entire congregation to publicly apologise to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, declaring that he is willing to make restitution to anyone he has ever wronged.
Reacting to the apology, Doris Ogala responded publicly, saying:
“Chris Okafor, please don’t kneel. This was all I wanted. Apology accepted.”
Her response followed Pastor Okafor’s heartfelt public apology during the church service, where he acknowledged his past mistakes and asked for forgiveness.
Pastor Okafor also assured members of his church that his life has changed, crediting the transformation to new spiritual fathers who have come into his life.
The development has continued to generate mixed reactions on social media, with some praising the pastor’s humility and accountability, while others debate the broader implications of his revelations.
