Grammy Award-winning Nigerian superstar Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, will headline the grand finale of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Fan Zone Concerts in Rabat, Morocco.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the development in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday night, teasing fans with what it described as a massive closing show for the tournament.

“One last show. One MASSIVE lineup,” CAF wrote, confirming that Burna Boy, Stormzy, Stonebwoy, and Jaylann will perform live at the finale.

The concert, tagged “The AFCON Last Dance,” is scheduled for Friday, January 16, 2026, at the OLM Souissi Fan Zone in Rabat, with activities expected to begin at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Music has played a central role throughout the AFCON 2025 tournament, which kicked off on December 21, 2025, blending football with African pop culture and global entertainment.

The tournament’s opening ceremony in Rabat featured Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido, alongside French Montana and RedOne, in a performance titled Le Show, staged shortly before Morocco’s opening match against Comoros at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.

CAF, while announcing Davido’s participation, said the singer embodies the celebratory and confident spirit of African football, noting that his music reflects “continental pride,” a value the football body associates with AFCON.

The Fan Zone finale comes just days after Morocco eliminated Nigeria from the competition, edging the Super Eagles 4–2 on penalties following a goalless 120 minutes in their semi-final clash in Rabat. Youssef En-Nesyri converted the decisive spot kick after missed penalties from Samuel Chukwueze and Bruno Onyemaechi.

Morocco will face Senegal in the AFCON final on Sunday, January 18, while Nigeria will take on Egypt in the third-place match on Saturday, January 17.

Burna Boy’s headline appearance further underscores the strong presence of Nigerian music on major global stages, following similar high-profile performances by artistes such as Wizkid, Rema, Tiwa Savage, CKay, and Patoranking at international sporting and cultural events.
