The Nigeria national football team secured a place in the final of the Unity Cup after defeating Zimbabwe national football team 2-0 in London.

Nigeria, who entered the tournament as defending champions, delivered a composed and dominant performance at The Valley Stadium, controlling possession and creating the better chances throughout the encounter.

The breakthrough came in the first half through debutant Femi Azeez, who made an instant impact by scoring on his first appearance for the Super Eagles. The forward calmly finished off a well-worked move to hand Nigeria the lead.

Zimbabwe pushed for an equaliser after the break and showed greater attacking urgency, but the Nigerian defence remained organized and disciplined to keep their opponents at bay.

Nigeria later doubled their advantage when Femi Azeez struck again to complete a memorable brace on his international debut, sealing victory for the Super Eagles and sending fans into celebration.

Head coach Eric Chelle praised the squad’s balance and the contributions of new players, highlighting the team’s growing depth ahead of future competitions.

The victory means Nigeria will now advance to the Unity Cup final as they continue their bid to successfully defend the title.
