Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, is set to part ways with Napoli permanently after reportedly accepting a lucrative offer from Turkish champions, Galatasaray.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the 26-year-old has agreed to a contract worth €16 million per year, signaling his intention to continue his career in Turkey. Osimhen, who spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Galatasaray, played a pivotal role in the club’s successful campaign, helping them win both the Turkish Super Lig title and the Turkish League Cup.
Despite initial interest from top European clubs, concrete offers from elite sides in England, Spain, or Germany failed to materialize. This lack of movement has seemingly cleared the path for Galatasaray to secure the Nigerian forward’s services on a permanent basis.
It is understood that Osimhen has already communicated his decision to Napoli, expressing his desire to remain in Istanbul, where he has rediscovered his form and received strong fan support.
Galatasaray’s pursuit of the striker has been significantly boosted by the involvement of the club’s sponsors, who are reportedly willing to contribute financially to activate the €75 million release clause in Osimhen’s contract with Napoli.
The move, once finalized, would mark one of the biggest signings in Turkish football in recent years and solidify Galatasaray’s ambitions both domestically and in European competitions.
Osimhen joined Napoli in 2020 from Lille and became a key figure in their 2022/23 Serie A title-winning campaign. His departure will close a memorable chapter in Italian football but open a promising new era for Galatasaray.
