Overview
Jhpiego is seeking qualified Research Interviewers/Data Collectors to support the implementation of the C19RM Impact Evaluation across Nigeria.
Successful candidates will be responsible for collecting high-quality quantitative and qualitative data from health facilities and communities, ensuring compliance with standardized research protocols, ethical guidelines, and data quality standards. The role is critical in generating reliable data to assess program outcomes, strengthen health systems, and evaluate the impact of C19RM investments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Collection Implementation
- Administer structured questionnaires at:
- Health facilities (readiness assessments, provider interviews)
- Communities/households (where applicable)
- Client exit interviews
- Conduct qualitative research including:
- Key Informant Interviews (KIIs)
- Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) (for designated roles)
- Accurately capture data using digital tools such as ODK and KoboToolbox
2. Data Quality Assurance
- Ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of collected data
- Participate in daily data validation and review sessions
- Report inconsistencies, errors, and field challenges promptly
- Maintain proper field documentation and reporting
3. Ethical Compliance & Engagement
- Obtain informed consent from all respondents
- Ensure confidentiality and data privacy at all times
- Demonstrate professionalism and cultural sensitivity
- Adhere strictly to research ethics and safeguarding policies
4. Field Coordination & Logistics
- Work closely with supervisors and field teams
- Follow assigned schedules, travel plans, and targets
- Participate in training, pilot testing, and pretesting exercises
- Provide feedback to improve tools and field processes
5. Use of Digital Tools
- Operate smartphones/tablets for electronic data capture
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues during fieldwork
- Ensure timely upload/synchronization of data
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in:
- Public Health
- Health Management
- Social Sciences
- Communications
- Development Studies or related field
- Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in:
- Survey data collection (quantitative and/or qualitative)
- Program implementation or donor-funded health projects
Skills & Competencies
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Teamwork, coordination, and facilitation skills
- High attention to detail and data accuracy
