EU Invites Nigerian Graduates to Apply for 2026 Funded Traineeship in Abuja
ABUJA — The European Union has opened applications for its 2026 funded traineeship programme targeting young Nigerian graduates interested in diplomacy, international relations, and media engagement.
In an official announcement, the EU said the opportunity is based at its delegation in Nigeria — the EU Delegation to Nigeria and ECOWAS — and will run for up to six months.
Programme details
According to the EU, selected candidates will work within the Political, Press and Information (PPI) Section, which plays a key role in:
- Supporting diplomatic relations with Nigeria and Economic Community of West African States
- Monitoring and analysing political developments
- Engaging with government institutions, civil society, and the media
The traineeship is expected to commence in July 2026, offering hands-on experience in how EU diplomacy operates in Nigeria.
Who can apply
The EU is seeking:
- Nigerian citizens resident in Abuja
- Young graduates with at least a Bachelor’s degree
- Applicants with less than one year of professional experience after graduation
- Individuals with strong interest in international relations and diplomatic work
