Tonto Dikeh has prayed for and praised her former husband Olakunle Churchill
Tonto Dikeh, the Nollywood actress turned evangelist, has showered praise on Olakunle Churchill, her former husband, in a heartfelt Mother’s Day tribute.
The film star took to her Instagram story on Sunday to thank Churchill for making her a mother, describing it as “the most beautiful part of my story”.
Dikeh referred to the businessman as her friend and prayed for God’s blessings upon him.
“Thank you, my Gee, for making me a mother. One of the most beautiful part of my story, and happy mothers day to your amazing mother. God bless you, Big Church,” she wrote.
Dikeh also responded to critics who accused her of praising Churchill excessively. She argued that no one understands the depth of her gratitude and that she remains unwavering in her appreciation.
The actress also hinted at a “healthy co-parenting” relationship with Churchill.
“Doing to much? For the only man who has put a child in me? The world is truly a sick place, and I’m gratefull don’t let your opinions direct me,” she wrote.
“When e reach your turn don’t thank them. How wld you understand the meaning of joy/peace that makes no sense, how wid you understand healthy Co-parenting, if I don’t show you all.”
Churchill was married to Dikeh in a union that ended controversially in 2017. Dikeh, however, recently announced that she and Churchill have “buried the hatchet”.
In 2021, Churchill announced Rosy Meurer, his former personal assistant, as his wife. The couple welcomed their first child in March 2021 and their second child in October 2022.
In 2023, Churchill also refuted claims of marital trouble with Meurer.
