Popular American streamer iShowSpeed has responded to criticism accusing him of being disrespectful for not collaborating with local content creators during his ongoing Africa tour, particularly in Nigeria.

The YouTube star explained that the primary aim of the tour is not influencer or streamer collaborations, but to showcase African culture to a global audience. According to Speed, the tour is designed to highlight everyday people, street performers with raw talent, and local communities that rarely receive international exposure.

Speed revealed that each stop on the tour is strictly pre-planned and time-restricted, with his movements carefully scheduled by his team. He noted that he is required to visit specific locations in every country, leaving little room for spontaneous changes or added collaborations.

Addressing complaints from some creators, Speed said many of those criticizing him already have established platforms, while the tour’s mission is to amplify voices and talents without visibility.

He further stressed that he would not cancel cultural visits or activities arranged by locals just to accommodate influencers, emphasizing that the focus of the tour is to put African culture on display for the world, not to center the experience around content creators.

Speed’s comments have sparked mixed reactions online, with some creators expressing disappointment, while many fans praised his decision to spotlight grassroots culture and authentic African experiences.
