RSIEC: APC wins 20 LGAs, PDP secures three in Rivers LGA polls
Results of the council polls for chairmanship and councillorship candidates conducted across the 23 local government areas of Rivers State, declares the All Progressives Congress(APC) winning 20 LGAs.
The other three (3) local government areas were won by the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).
It was on Saturday, 30th August 2025 that the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) conducted the election under the chairmanship of Dr. Michael Ekpai Odey.
The outcome of the election, particularly the winners for the chairmanship slots was announced on Sunday at the RSIEC headquarters in Port Harcourt.
The results of the election are as follows:
Ahoada East – APC: 84,125
Obio/Akpor – PDP: 328,888
Asari Toru – APC: 56,383
Ikwerre – APC: 62,746
Bonny – APC: 13,543
Degema – APC: 61,536
Eleme – APC: 77,452
Etche – APC: 100,649
Gokana – APC: 96,478
Khana – APC: 156,027
ONELGA – PDP: 51,051
Ogu/Bolo – APC: 36,374
Opobo/Nkoro – APC: 38,822
Okrika – APC: 82,285
Emohua – APC: 115,380
Akuku Toru – APC: 63,593
