Taylor Swift, South African Tyla Win Big at MTV Europe Music Awards
The 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards took place on Sunday at Manchester’s Co-op Live, and what a night it was!
Taylor Swift was the big winner, taking home four awards, including Best Artist, Best Video for her collaboration with Post Malone “Fortnight”, Best Live, and Best U.S. Act.
In her video message, Swift expressed her gratitude, saying it’s “unbelievable” to be honored for her tour, album, and video.
South African singer Tyla also had an amazing night, winning three awards: Best Afrobeats, Best R&B, and Best African Act.
Other notable winners include Sabrina Carpenter for Best Song with “Espresso”, Ariana Grande for Best Pop, and Eminem for Best Hip-Hop.
The ceremony also paid tribute to late One Direction member Liam Payne, who passed away last month. Host Rita Ora, who collaborated with Payne on the 2018 song “For You”, led the emotional tribute, highlighting Payne’s impact on the music world.
