Skillful Minds Initiative Pays School Fees for 50 Vulnerable Pupils in Abuja to Promote Quality Education

The Skillful Minds Wholesome Initiative for Women and Children (SMWIWC) has successfully carried out her annual Skillful Minds Mid-Year Outreach, providing educational support to vulnerable children in underserved communities as part of its commitment to improving access to quality education.

The 2026 outreach, held on Friday, July 17, 2026, took place at LEA Primary School, Byazhin, Abuja, where the organization paid the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) levies for approximately 50 pupils from Primary 1 to Primary 6 whose families face financial hardship.

The intervention was aimed at removing financial barriers that often prevent children from accessing uninterrupted learning opportunities. By easing this burden on parents and guardians, the initiative has enabled the beneficiaries to continue their education with greater confidence and dignity.

Speaking on the outreach, representatives of Skillful Minds reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to supporting vulnerable women and children through sustainable interventions that improve their educational, physical, and overall well-being.

The outreach also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4): Quality Education, which advocates for inclusive, equitable, and quality education while promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.

The organization expressed profound appreciation to its partners and donors, both within Nigeria and in the diaspora, whose generosity and unwavering support made the outreach possible.

According to Skillful Minds Executive Director, Ms Damilola M. Oluwasola, “The impact of this intervention extends beyond the classroom. It offers hope to children, relieves financial pressure on families, and strengthens our collective commitment to ensuring that every child has access to quality education,” she said.
