Nigerian Government Drops All Money Laundering Charges Against Binance Executive Gambaryan

The Federal Government of Nigeria has dropped all charges against Tigran Gambaryan, a Binance Holdings executive, who was facing a money laundering trial since April.

The charges were withdrawn at the Federal High Court in Abuja, citing “diplomatic issues” and Gambaryan’s deteriorating health.

Gambaryan, a U.S. citizen, had been detained since April, with his second bail application denied on October 11 due to insufficient evidence of ill health. However, his absence from the October 18 trial due to health reasons led to a rescheduled trial date of October 25, which is now moot.

The EFCC lawyer stated that Gambaryan was merely an employee of Binance, not involved in the company’s broader financial decisions, a point agreed upon by Gambaryan’s counsel, Mark Mordi. This development brings an end to Gambaryan’s prolonged legal battle.
