Abuja, Nigeria – The Nigeria Police Force, FCT Command, has announced that it will commence the enforcement of the ban on tinted glasses and concealed number plates.

FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu, made this announcement while parading suspects arrested for various crimes in Abuja. According to CP Disu, 296 vehicles have been impounded for violating traffic laws, including the use of tinted glasses, driving with only one plate number, and using concealed or defaced number plates.

The police have also foiled five ‘One Chance’ robbery operations and rescued three victims. CP Disu noted that the achievements highlight the effectiveness of the police’s proactive strategies and the importance of public collaboration in ensuring safety in the FCT.

The enforcement of the ban on tinted glasses and concealed number plates is in line with the law prohibiting the use of tint on vehicles, except for those with valid permits. The police had previously suspended the enforcement of the ban due to a pause in the issuance of tint permits.
