Youth Empowerment Programme in BCG, Nasarawa State

BCG, Nasarawa State – A youth empowerment programme aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and vocational skills has provided young people in BCG, Nasarawa State, with practical training to improve their economic opportunities.

The programme brought together youths, community leaders, and other stakeholders to encourage self-reliance through vocational education. Participants received hands-on training in computer literacy, tailoring, soap making, and entrepreneurship, equipping them with practical skills that can be used to start small businesses.

Speaking during the programme, community leaders emphasized the importance of youth empowerment in reducing unemployment and poverty.

They urged participants to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to create sustainable sources of income and contribute to the development of their communities.Participants expressed appreciation to the organisers, describing the initiative as an opportunity to gain valuable skills for personal and professional growth.

Many said they were inspired to pursue entrepreneurship instead of relying solely on white-collar employment.The programme concluded with the presentation of certificates to participants. Residents commended the initiative and called for similar empowerment programmes to be organised regularly across communities in Nasarawa State to promote sustainable development.
