Unity Bank Empowers 400 Fresh Graduates, Invests Over N100 Million in Corpreneurship Challenge

In a remarkable display of commitment to driving economic growth and supporting the next generation of Nigerian entrepreneurs, Unity Bank has empowered no fewer than 400 fresh graduates through its Corpreneurship Challenge initiative over the past five years. This impressive feat reflects the Bank’s dedication to fostering entrepreneurship and job creation among young Nigerians.

The Corpreneurship Challenge, launched in 2019, has grown in scale and impact, with an increase in prize money to 16 million Naira per stream. This allows winners to receive business grants of N800,000, N500,000, and N300,000 for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions respectively. The initiative has been successfully implemented in 10 States across Nigeria, with three winners emerging in each State.

The Divisional Head, Digital Banking and Fintech Partnerships, Mr. Olufunwa Akinmade, expressed satisfaction with the initiative’s success, stating that it has proven to be a viable enterprise development and empowerment program. He emphasized the Bank’s commitment to sustaining the program to achieve even greater impact in boosting job creation, with young entrepreneurs leading the charge.

Mrs. Adenike Ambimbola, Divisional Head of Retail and SME Banking, highlighted the positive impact of the Corpreneurship Challenge, citing its innovative approach to youth empowerment and job creation. She noted that the program’s holistic strategy, which includes mentorship, skills development, and financial backing, has made a significant difference in the lives of budding entrepreneurs.

Since its launch, the Corpreneurship Challenge has made a significant impact, with 30 winners emerging in the latest edition across 10 States. This brings the total number of beneficiaries to 400, with over N100 million invested in the initiative.

Unity Bank’s Corpreneurship Challenge is a shining example of corporate social responsibility and a testament to the power of entrepreneurship in driving economic growth.
