BONA NAIJAThe Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has emphasized the benefits and efficiency of the newly launched electronic central motor registry (e-CMR) registration process. The e-CMR aims to enhance vehicle safety and security by integrating vehicle data for quick action on stolen vehicles.
The NPF has clarified that the e-CMR is not a revenue-generating platform but an initiative to digitalize policing. The Inspector-General of Police has suspended the proposed enforcement of the e-CMR, initially scheduled for July 29, 2024, to allow for mass enlightenment and education.
Members of the public can obtain the digitalized CMR certificate online at https://cmris.npf.gov.ng. Inquiries can be directed to the 24/7 hotline (02018870133) or technical support at cmrtech@npfcmr.ng.
The e-CMR initiative promises to curb vehicular crimes and enhance vehicle security. The NPF seeks the understanding and support of all Nigerians and residents to key into the e-CMR system.
