Live Update: List of Grammy Awards winners
FKA twigs, Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo Win Early at 68th Grammy Awards
Several top music stars picked up early wins on Sunday as the 68th Annual Grammy Awards kicked off with the Premiere Ceremony in Los Angeles.
British singer FKA twigs, Mexican music icon Natalia Lafourcade, and the Wicked duo of Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande were among the first winners announced ahead of the main televised ceremony.
The Premiere Ceremony, which took place Sunday afternoon, saw 86 awards presented across multiple categories before the prime-time broadcast scheduled for 8 p.m. Eastern on CBS. Actor and singer Darren Criss hosted the event, which also featured live performances and award presentations.
FKA twigs claimed the Best Dance/Electronic Album award for EUSEXUA, while Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their powerful rendition of Defying Gravity from Wicked.
Natalia Lafourcade continued her Grammy success with a win in the Best Latin Pop Album category for Cancionera. In the rock category, Turnstile earned Best Rock Album for Never Enough.
Other notable winners included Carín León, who won Best Música Mexicana Album for Palabra De To’s (Seca), and Doechii, whose visual for Anxiety took home Best Music Video.
The film Sinners had a strong showing, winning both Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media and Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media, the latter awarded to composer Ludwig Göransson.
As anticipation builds for the televised ceremony, the early wins highlight the diversity of genres and global talent celebrated at this year’s Grammys.
