Embattled Enugu state former commissioner for lands in a move that has been dubbed ‘face saving visit’ by some citizens of the State, Dr. Victor Chukwuemeka Nnam, was at Old Government Lodge to see the Governor on new year day.
On October 29th, 2021, the former commissioner for lands resigned his position alleging that some staff under him were removed in a punitive move and can’t continue in such government.
However on the 1st of January 2022, Nnam visited the Governor with the entire members of his family. He disclosed that the purpose was to give “honour” to whom it’s due.
Nnam went further to call for peace in the interest of the state.
“Being alive is a privilege, let’s embrace one another and work together for the betterment of the state”.
True to his peaceful disposition, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in his address, promised to sustain the tempo of peace and good governance in the state which he said, will help to improve the living standard of the people.
He reiterated that “Enugu State is in the hands of God”, stressing that true forgiveness should be the message of the season irrespective of the offence.
According to the Governor, the challenges of the economic realities would demand that Nigerians rededicate themselves and their energies to the task of nation building. He stated that Nigerians needed a deep sober reflection, as they embrace 2022 in order to tackle the myriads of socio-economic problems that confronted the people in 2021.
