Chelsea’s Italian manager, Enzo Maresca, has been named the Premier League Manager of the Month for September 2024.
This recognition comes after Maresca led the Blues to an impressive string of victories.
Maresca’s Chelsea started September with a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace but then secured successive clean sheets on the road, beating Bournemouth 1-0 and West Ham United 3-0. The team also earned a thrilling 4-2 win over Brighton & Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea finished September among the top four teams in the Premier League, scoring nine goals. Maresca’s innovative tactics and player positioning have unlocked the potential of Chelsea’s squad, particularly Cole Palmer, who won the Premier League Player of the Month award.
Maresca, 44, beat out a five-man shortlist including Mikel Arteta, Unai Emery, Marco Silva, and Arne Slot. He becomes the first Chelsea head coach to win the award since Thomas Tuchel in October 2021.
