Joe Biden Elected 46th U.S. President
Former Vice President Joe Biden has officially been elected as the 46th president of the United States.
The former vice president has earnedĀ the 270 electoral votes required to win theĀ 2020 election, defeatingĀ Donald TrumpĀ in battleground states such as Wisconsin, MichiganĀ and Pennsylvania.
Candidate and rapperĀ Kanye WestĀ appeared toĀ have already concededĀ the election on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
It’s also a historic win for Vice President-electĀ Kamala Harris, who will becomeĀ the first woman, Black person and South Asian American to hold the country’s No. 2 position.
Throughout Biden’s campaign, superstarsĀ Lady GagaĀ andĀ John LegendĀ were among speakers atĀ his rallies in PennsylvaniaāandĀ Taylor Swift,Ā Ariana Grande,Ā Viola Davis,Ā Beyoncé andĀ several other celebs hadĀ endorsed the 77-year-old former senator from Delaware.
After the results were announced,Ā many stars couldn’t contain their excitement, toasting to the president-elect and vice president-elect on social media.
