President Biden Tests Positive for COVID-19, Experiencing Mild Symptoms – White House
President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19, the White House announced on Wednesday. The 81-year-old president is fully vaccinated and boosted, and is experiencing mild symptoms.
According to a statement from the White House, Biden was tested after feeling unwell during a campaign trip to Las Vegas. He is currently self-isolating at his beach house in Delaware, where he will continue to carry out his duties.
The president’s doctor reported that Biden is experiencing a runny nose, non-productive cough, and general malaise, but his symptoms remain mild. His respiratory rate, temperature, and pulse oximetry readings are all normal.
Biden has begun taking the antiviral drug Paxlovid, and his medical team is monitoring his condition closely.
The news comes as Biden is facing growing pressure to drop his re-election bid against former President Donald Trump, following a disastrous debate performance that sparked concerns about his age and health.

Despite his diagnosis, the president remains optimistic, giving reporters a thumbs up as he boarded Air Force One to head for isolation.
“I feel good,” Biden said, before departing for Delaware.
The White House has assured the public that the president is in good hands, and that his duties will not be affected by his isolation.
