‘THE HARDER THEY FALL’: NETFLIX’S JONATHAN MAJORS-IDRIS ELBA WESTERN ADDS 7 TO STAR-STUDDED CAST

Netflix is filling out the cast for the Black Western film, The Harder They Fall, Shadow and Act has learned.

Jonathan Majors and Idris Elba were announced to lead the film last year. Now, Zazie Beetz, Delroy Lindo, Lakeith Stanfield, Danielle Deadwyler, RJ Cyler and Regina King have been added.

Here’s the logline: In this Western, outlaw Nat Love (Jonathan Majors) discovers that his enemy, Rufus Buck (Idris Elba), is being released from prison, so he reunites his gang to track Rufus down and seek revenge.

The film is the directorial debut for Jeymes Samuel, who worked with Jay-Z on The Great Gatsby soundtrack under his music pseudonym, The Bullitts. Samuel will keep his connection to Jay-Z, since the rapper will produce the film with Samuel alongside Lawrence Bender and James Lassiter.

Samuel also wrote the script with Boaz Yakin and he will write and produce original music with Jay-Z for the film.
