Iran threatens to crush Israel if it responds to missiles fired
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a stern warning to Israel, threatening devastating counterattacks if Israel retaliates against Tehran’s recent missile strike.
The IRGC justified the strike as a response to Israel’s alleged “attack on the sovereignty” of Iran, specifically referencing the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran in July.
On Tuesday evening, Iranian forces launched a barrage of missiles targeting Tel Aviv, with Iranian state media showcasing the launches accompanied by patriotic music.
This marks the second direct attack on Israel by Iran in six months, following a previous missile and drone assault in April.
The current escalation follows Israel’s strike on Friday that killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and General Abbas Nilforoushan, a top IRGC commander.
Iran had vowed to respond, and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian accused Israel of warmongering at the UN General Assembly.
The situation remains tense, with the US warning of severe consequences for Tehran and regional allies urging restraint.
