The Weeknd and Angelina spark romance rumors after dinner date
The Weeknd has the rumor mill buzzing after a dinner date with Angelina Jolie.
The singer, 31, and Oscar-winning actress, 46, were spotted exiting celebrity hotspot Giorgio Baldi in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening (June 30). According to Page Six, the pair spent hours at the Italian restaurant but left separately to avoid being photographed together.
While there is speculation that they enjoyed a romantic evening, it’s also possible that their meeting was for professional reasons.
“They’re clearly not trying to hide [the dinner date],” said a source close to The Weeknd. “He’s definitely focused on getting to the movie business. He has the new HBO series he’s starring in.”
The Weeknd is venturing out into Hollywood. Just this week, it was announced that he will star in and co-write a new HBO series “The Idol,” which he is developing with “Euphoria” creator Sam Levinson. The show centers around a female pop singer who starts a romance with an L.A. club owner who is the leader of a secret cult.
The Weeknd famously shouted out the mother of six on his 2016 single “Party Monster.” “Angelina, lips like Angelina / Like Selena, ass shaped like Selena,” he sings.
The Canadian crooner was previously in high-profile relationships with Bella Hadid and Selena Gomez, while Jolie has reportedly been reconnecting with ex-husband Jonny Lee Miller in recent weeks.
