Super Eagles Trio Make Official AFCON 2025 Best XI

Three Nigerian stars Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Calvin Bassey have been named in the official Best XI of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The selection, announced following the conclusion of the tournament in Morocco, recognises the top performers across all teams based on their impact, consistency and influence throughout the competition.

Nigeria finished third in the tournament, claiming the bronze medal, and the inclusion of three Super Eagles players in the Team of the Tournament underlines their strong performances.

Nigerian Stars in the CAF 2025 Best XI

Victor Osimhen (Forward) – The Galatasaray striker was one of Nigeria’s standout performers, contributing goals and leadership in attack. His pace, finishing and physical presence placed him among the continent’s elite forwards.

Ademola Lookman (Midfielder/Winger) – Lookman’s creativity, goal contributions and ability to change games earned him a spot in the midfield of the Team of the Tournament. The Atalanta playmaker was one of the most dangerous players in AFCON 2025.

Calvin Bassey (Defender) – The Fulham defender stood out at the back for the Super Eagles, providing defensive stability and resilience. His inclusion reflects his consistent and disciplined defending throughout the competition.
