The NDIGBO FOR TINUBU 2027 FORUM (NDI-ABAT), a coalition of Igbo groups, has issued a strong warning to former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, over his continued claims regarding the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.

In a press release dated April 20, 2026, the group described Obi’s assertions that he won the 2023 election as “misleading” and capable of inciting political tension ahead of the 2027 general elections.

NDI-ABAT stated that such claims, if repeated in the lead-up to the next election cycle, could contribute to civil unrest in an already polarized political environment. The group urged the former governor to exercise restraint and refrain from making statements that could inflame his supporters, popularly known as the “Obidient Movement.”

The forum also criticized Obi’s tenure as governor of Anambra State, alleging that he failed to conduct local government elections throughout his time in office. It further claimed there were no verifiable records of major healthcare infrastructure projects completed during his administration.

According to the group, these issues raise concerns about his leadership record and preparedness for the 2027 presidential race.

NDI-ABAT warned that it may consider legal action if Obi continues to make what it described as “baseless claims” about the 2023 election outcome, stating that such narratives could have serious consequences for national peace and stability.

The group emphasized the need for political leaders to uphold democratic values and promote unity, rather than division, as Nigeria approaches another election cycle.

Reaffirming its political stance, the forum reiterated its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and pledged to continue advocating for peace, unity, and national development ahead of 2027.
