Davido Urges Osun Residents to Stay Peaceful, Vote Freely Ahead of Governorship Election
Afrobeats superstar David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has appealed to the people of Osun State to remain peaceful and united as they prepare to head to the polls for the upcoming governorship election.
The award-winning singer shared the message on his official social media account, urging eligible voters to exercise their democratic rights without fear or intimidation.
“A message from my heart to the people of Osun. Stay peaceful. Stay united. Come out, vote freely and never allow anyone to intimidate you. Osun belongs to all of us,” Davido wrote.
The singer concluded his post with a show of support for the incumbent Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, using the slogan “4+4 🇳🇬👏”, a popular campaign phrase calling for a second term in office.
Davido, who is Governor Adeleke’s nephew, has remained one of the governor’s most vocal supporters since the 2022 election. The music star has frequently participated in political campaigns and encouraged citizens to take part in the democratic process.
His latest appeal comes as political activities intensify across Osun State, with security agencies, the electoral commission, political parties, and civil society groups calling on residents to conduct themselves peacefully before, during, and after the election.
