Igwe De MC Celebrates 20 Years in Entertainment with Star-Studded UK Show “Jokes Apart”
Popular Nigerian entertainer and master of ceremonies, Henry Okwudilichukwu Ugwoke, widely known as Igwe De MC (Medical MC), is marking 20 years of excellence in the entertainment industry with a landmark comedy and entertainment show in the United Kingdom titled “IGWE DE MC (Jokes Apart).”
Born in Ede-Oballa, Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, Igwe De MC discovered his passion for entertainment at an early age. Despite pursuing a professional career in medicine at the University of Nigeria, where he studied Medical Radiography and Radiological Sciences in the College of Medicine, his love for the stage remained strong.
He officially began his career as a master of ceremonies in 2005 and has since built a strong reputation for his charisma, originality, and ability to engage audiences across different cultures and events.
His entertainment journey gained further momentum through his involvement with the Joyful Family Theatre Group in Enugu, where he served two terms as President, helping to nurture creativity and leadership within the group.
Over the years, Igwe De MC has secured ambassadorial deals with several brands, including Body Up Energy Drink, Chupez Nigeria Ltd, and Pik “A” Ride Transport Company, further cementing his influence in Nigeria’s entertainment landscape.
His leadership credentials also earned him the role of President of the Enugu Comedians and MCs under the Association of Enugu State Comedians and MCs, where he played a key role in fostering unity and development among entertainers in the state.
Beyond entertainment, Igwe De MC became a cultural sensation following his widely celebrated “OFALA Wedding” to his wife, Linda Idoko, popularly known as Lolo Odiukonamba 1. The entertainer is also known as a devoted family man blessed with children.
Having hosted numerous high-profile events across Nigeria, Igwe De MC has since relocated to the United Kingdom, where he continues to make significant impact in the entertainment scene across Europe and beyond.
To commemorate his 20-year milestone on stage, he is set to host his debut UK show, “IGWE DE MC (Jokes Apart),” on July 25, 2026. The highly anticipated event is expected to bring together top Nigerian comedians, DJs, and entertainers from different parts of the world.
The event lineup includes notable entertainers such as Seyi Law, Deacon Famous, Sir One on One (Women Leader), Twocantok, Franchez, LYRICS, Unku SP (Onye Obodo), Lafin Gas, Warri Bros, NDfunny, Triple U, DJ OMA, DJ Rain, DJ Bullet, DJ Sailent Masta, DJ Bala, Pascal Ogbuefi, Comedian Sam and Song, and YAUS from Scotland, among others.
With two decades of consistency, creativity, and stage mastery, Igwe De MC continues to inspire upcoming entertainers while expanding his influence on the global entertainment stage.
