The Leadership System We Practice in Nigeria

By: Dr. Chibuike Echem,pslc
If our plan is to truly build a new Nigeria 🇳🇬 for our unborn generation, then we must as a matter of urgency abandon everything we have seen about leadership in this country, because to our very eyes 👀 it have not worked or produced any transformation for the people.
The focus now should be a deliberate investment in the training and development of value based transformational leaders, individuals with passionate commitment towards a given ideological principles that does not just favour a few region, but the general interest of the country.
Can we shift a bit from our political operators and reach out to individuals with visible and touchable results, people with proof by history what they have done in their private or public life.
How can we celebrate a system that constantly uplifts individuals without any form of leadership developmental training, people who can not even define the concept of leadership.
They lack self-sacrifice, empathy, passion, willingness to do what is right, but rather they promote selfishness, religious and regional sentiments, never willing to learn new things, only interested in their pockets, these are the people we have handed over our lives and that of our unborn generation to.
Can we not change this narrative? Can we not decide to do things differently, Nigeria 🇳🇬 is blessed, let’s walk away from self inflated pain.
An untrained individual should never be empowered to become a leader.
